Dave and Jess Quak stepped out in faith last year and planted Living Temple Christian Church at Elanora, Queensland, Australia. LTCC is a small groups based church. In the short time of the church’s existence, they are thrilled to pieces with the amazing things the Lord has done. Dave says …

“This year has been fantastic for Living Temple. We began the year with seven life groups and they are all going along very well. God has blessed us with an amazing group of leaders who are truly pastors to the flock in their care. Our celebration services have really been building momentum as well. God has blessed us with two amazing worship leaders, and an awesome bunch of people willing to be committed to see the Kingdom come on earth.

We started our sermon series last year, preaching through the whole Book of John. It’s already March and we are only up to Chapter 7! There is so much gold in this Gospel we just cannot rush it! :)

Personally, Jess  and I are feeling like this is an absolutely fruitful and fulfilling season, probably the best we have ever had. By God’s grace we pray it continues for a very long time. Thanks CCI community for your love and prayers… chat soon! Dave Quak.”

Doing LIFE online?

Dave Quak, my very good friend, fellow CCI team member and pastor of the new Living Temple Christian Church in Elanora here on the Gold Coast, recently posted an article on his website about online small groups.

In his blog post Dave wrote…

“The main objection I have heard when pitching this idea is that some believe that this method (on-line) contributes to the notion that the internet is enhancing social ineptness and is conducive to people living in a world where the truth is hidden behind walls where people are role playing. I have my opinions, but I will let the fruit speak for itself over time because anything I say at the moment would simply be my untested opinion.”

I can see this innovative strategy potentially bearing great fruit in our current age, but I also understand that some people may be challenged by the concept of trying to do small-groups in such a truly ‘virtual’ community.  And so my purpose in posting this, and asking you to check it out on Dave’s blog, is to open it up for discussion as I will be really interested to see what feedback we get (so will Dave I’m sure).

Well done Dave for having a go at this mate – we need to use all the tools available to reach the unchurched, wherever they get together!

Are you desiring great outcomes?

If we are desiring great outcomes in our lives then we need to be following Jesus in all that we do.

While I was in Wales recently, in response to a particular request, I developed a one page guide with some advice from God’s Word on how we can all “change our hearts and lives … Prepare the way of the Lord. Make the road straight for Him” (Matthew 3:2-3).
